In My Mailbox { 12 }

It feels like I haven't done one of these in forever! But I got some really, really awesome things this week in the mail, so there was no way I wasn't going to share. But it seems to be a reoccurring theme right now that I just don't have enough time in the day, so there is no editing done to this video at all. I'm a little bummed, because I love playing around with it, but with only a limited amount of time at home this morning, what are ya gonna do? Oh, and I apologize for my uber frizzy just-washed hair. ;D

And if you haven't checked out R.A.K. yet, head over to Book Soulmates and sign up immediately! It's so much fun, and you definitely won't regret it. Again, thank you so much to the people who have sent me books! You guys are totally awesome. ;D

In My Mailbox (11)

No video again this week. I really wanted to, because I got some really awesome things this week, but time just got away from me. The weekend is just never long enough, is it?

{FOR REVIEW}
None this week! (Kind of glad too - my reading pile is massive right now!)

{BOUGHT}
So after finishing Anna and the French Kiss last week (review to come!), I immediately went and purchased my own copy. I am planning on forcing this on everyone. I also stopped by a local used bookstore in town, and happened to find three of the missing Black Dagger Brotherhood books I was missing, as well as the first in the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning. And, randomly, I decided to go with my parents on their visit to our local Sam's Club, and naturally went into the book section. While I could have bought a lot, I settled for the bound edition of the Balefire series. I haven't read them before, or honestly hear much about them, but they sounded really good, and I love bound editions.

{BORROWED}
And I promised myself I wouldn't check anymore books out until I'd read the ones I had, but I couldn't resist. Both of these came back on the same day, and I've wanted to read both of them. It was totally a sign.

And probably the coolest thing I got all week! A while ago, I won a runner-up prize pack from Novel Novice for their anniversary contest of epic. And it came this week! I got a bunch of stunning Novel Novice bookmarks, and some amazing Wicked Lovely temporary tattoos. I got a bunch, so I might give some away. ;D

In My Mailbox (10)

It's time for another In My Mailbox! I can't believe it's already Sunday. Some weeks just go by so fast. I usually do a vlog post now, but I was just too exhausted yesterday afternoon to make one. Blame laundry and dishes, ugh.

{FOR REVIEW}
 I was shocked to get this one in the mail - I hadn't asked for it! It's nice to get a little surprise every now and then. ;D But, this looks really good. I haven't read Incarceron or Sapphique yet, but I've heard they're good. And this has a map. A fold-out map. I'm hooked.

{BOUGHT}
I bought Behemoth after I found Leviathan at my local discount store. I've been meaning to read it forever, and my library's only copy is large print - and I just cannot read large print for the life of me. So, I just went ahead and bought my own. I know I'll love it anyway. ;D I bought Wuthering Heights since it's my next Wordsworth challenge book. I always like to have a cheaper paperback copy that I don't feel so bad about highlighting quotes in. And I'll admit it, I totally love the classic re-releases with the Twilight-y covers. They're so pretty!

{BORROWED}
  I kind of went a little library-book-happy this week and checked out more than I usually do. But, with all the new amazing orders coming in (ya know, not to toot my own horn or anything, lol!), I just can't help it. I checked out Forgive My Fins for a little mermaid fun - I absolutely love mermaids. Hex Hall is for the A-Z Challenge. The Iron Witch is a 2011 debut author, and Sisters Red is just for fun. I looooove the cover on Sisters Red, and I love werewolves, so I figured it would be a good match.

Oh, and I got one other bookish thing:

This is totally my life motto. "Keep Calm and Have a Cupcake"

In My Mailbox (9)

Sorry for the overly long video - I had a lot of books, and I kind of rambled a little! I also would have had this up a whole hour earlier, but Daylight Savings Time really threw me for a loop this morning - I overslept like crazy. But that's totally allowable on a Sunday. ;D I apologize again for the shoddy video quality. Youtube likes to distort my videos for some reason.

Hope you all are having a fabulous weekend so far! I apologize in advance for all my mispronunciations - I'm pitiful when it comes to pronouncing things, lol! And I'm not sure why, but the video quality came out a little ickier than normal. I hope my camera isn't fading on me!

 I'm going to be posting a couple photos from the Breathless Reads signing later in the week, so keep an eye out for that as well!

Mini Update

So I just wanted to post a really quick mini update. I haven't even been gone for a full week, and I already feel bad about not paying attention to the blog. Kinda sad, right? Well, I actually got sick again - the joys of working in a public library, I know. And being sick, for some reason, has the side effect of making me avoid computers like the plague. So, I haven't checked my e-mail, I've missed a couple posts I had wanted to make, and I'm a little behind with...well...everything. I am literally terrified to open up my Google Reader. But, first things first. Here is a late mini IMM. But, better late than never, right?

I managed to snag two more of the the Highlander series by Karen Marie Moning! At this rate, I might find the whole series for free. I am no the proud owner of a very used copy of The Immortal Highlander and Spell of the Highlander.

I also finally updated the other question for Friday. I'm going to be replying to all the comments soon - sorry I haven't done it before this!

Also, I should be posting a review for Across the Universe soon, as well as Nightshade. Nightshade I'm currently re-writing, since I tried to write it while under the influence of cold medication and it really...just doesn't make any sense at all, lol! And even though I avoid computers while sick, luckily I don't avoid books. So, while I may have been reading at a slower pace, my Breathless Reads Tour Mini Challenge is still mostly on pace. I'll be getting the original post updated this week as well.

So that's it for the most part. I've got a lot of catching up to do, but I'll get it done eventually. ;D

Hope everyone is having a fantastic Valentine's Day weekend! I decided to do another vlog post for IMM this week. I had so much fun doing the other one, I couldn't resist!

In My Mailbox (6)

So this week I definitely shouldn't have, but I totally did. I went to another library book sale. I spent a little too much probably, but I found a couple of great books. It wasn't as good as my library's sale...but what can I say? I'm biased! I would have done another vlog post this weekend, but with being sick, I'd sound like a stuffy frog, and no one needs to hear that. XD

{Booksale}

(I bought Dracula because it was such an awesome old edition, full of illustrations. I was really happy to find Swan Thieves too! I love Elizabeth Kostova. And The Bitten is actually the fourth in a vampire huntress series, so I'm going to have to find the first ones. :-P)

(Pride and Prejudice and Zombies! I can't believe I haven't read this yet. I also found a Wuthering Heights remix, Wuthering Bites. The Glass Books of the Dream Eaters was a series I read a while ago, and really loved, so now I'm going to have to find Volume 2 to match. Harry Potter to fuel my addition of course, and Sarah Addison Allen is a local NC author that was recommended to me by a friend.)

(I was so excited to find Valiant since I found Tithe at the first book sale I went to. I absolutely love Brian Froud, so I couldn't pass his up. I also managed to find the first House of Night book, Marked. I've been meaning to try the series at some point. I also found Inkspell and Inkdeath by Cornelia Funke. Only Inkheart wasn't there! Now I'm going to have to hunt down a library binding of it to complete the collection.)

{Bought & Borrowed}

(I had a few awesome coupons for Barnes & Noble, so I finally bought the Twilight series, in a lovely box set. And I borrowed Wicked Lovely from the library this week as well.)

In My Mailbox (5)

Everyone better be having an excellent weekend to make up for my sucky one, lol! I've been sick for a couple of days, and while it's a great time to catch up on blog posts and read, I'd really just like to be able to breathe out of my nose. So, everyone else go crazy for me for what's left of the weekend!

(I'm starting to wish my shelves were white instead of black. Having to use the flash so much is bothering me!)

{For Review/Filched:}
So my mum actually received this one a couple of days ago in the mail as an ARC, and I totally filched it from her. I've been really, really wanting to read this series. Now I just need to get my hands on the first two.

{Borrowed:}
I also checked out a couple of books from the library this week. Matched because I meant to read it last year, and never did. Not to mention all the amazing reviews out there, and that a coworker read it and loved it. Timless is for the 2011 DAC, and because I totally love time travel novels. And Anna and the French Kiss because I couldn't resist it anymore! I feel like the only person in the world who hasn't read it yet!

In My Mailbox (4)

I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far! Here's what I got this week in my mailbox.

{For Review:}
 I was so excited to receive this is the mail this week! This is on two of my challenge lists for the year, and I've been waiting to read this one for forever. It's due out on April 5th, 2011.

{Bought:}
I cannot wait to read this! I've heard so many good reviews that I couldn't resist buying my own copy. The reversible cover is gorgeous!

I also just wanted to mention that I got my awesome little swag pack in the mail from Steph @ The Thoughts of a Book Junky for participating in the A-Z Reading Challenge this year. I received a postcard, and a couple of signed bookmarks. So awesome! You should definitely check out the challenge if you haven't already.

And now for a special vlog segment of this week's IMM. I went to my local booksale, and bought a lot of books. I apologize in advance for how many times I say 'um'. ;D Oh, and the really bad lighting. I tried to get it as bright as possible.

And sorry for all the mispronunciations! I'm so bad with getting names right.

Interesting note, I found a note in Mr. & Mrs. Fitzwilliam Darcy that said it was the "worst book I've ever read", and a torn out magazine article about Twilight in The Host. It's funny what you can find in used books.

In My Mailbox (3)

Another late IMM. This week was kinda slow for me - only two books. However, next week should be borderline ridiculous. It's my library's annual booksale. $2 hardbacks, and $1 paperbacks. My plan is to spend way more than I rightfully should. ;D

Bought:
One of the benefits of working in my library is all the donations for the book sale come to us first. We can go through them and go ahead and buy a few things in advance it we want. I saw this and absolutely could not resist. It has full-color foldouts of the unicorn tapestries, and tons of other unicorn artwork. For $2, how could I not?

Won:
I finally received my copy of  Revolution I won from Novel Novice back in November. I'm so excited to finally be able to read this!

In My Mailbox (2)

So there isn't much for me this week - just a few belated Christmas presents, and buying up some challenge books.

Bought:
 (Both box sets are late Christmas presents to myself. So excited to get box sets of these series - I've never had my own copies.)

Bought:
 (All bought for challenges I'm participating in.)

Borrowed:
(So freakin' excited to read this finally! I'm a total Marilyn fangirl.)

In My Mailbox (1)

So please forgive my very late, very first IMM. I'm doing this right before dinner, and I'm rushing, because it literally just hit me that today was Sunday. Go-go holidays for throwing off my week! I promise, one day, this will have a spiffy little image and will look way less craptastic. One day.
