Book Hop & Follow Friday (1)

Participating in a couple memes to spread the blogging love this wonderful Friday afternoon. Book Blogger Hop is hosted over at Crazy for Books. Follow My Book Blog Friday is hosted by Parajunkee's View

Book Blogger Hop

What book influenced or changed your life? How did it influence/change you?

This one is so easy. Harry Potter, hands down. Harry Potter made me believe in the power the written word can have, how to love characters who aren't even real, and to believe in magic. J.K. Rowling is a veritable saint in my book.

What book(s) have you discovered lately from someone's book blog?

So many! Definitely the two that are sticking out right now are "The Iron Thorn" by Kaitlin Kittredge and "Mercy" by Rebecca Lim.

  9. This will probably come of something as a surprise but the book that changed/influenced my life (more than any other) is a non-fiction book. I know we all focus on novels and the fanciful fiction we love to read but The Four Work Week is the book that gets all the credit. I know the title sounds fictional but it really isn’t. Hop over to my blog and find out why – http://www.howardsherman.net

    Happy Book Blogger Hop Day!

  10. I love the font in your titles. How do you get that???? I think HP was/is a tremendously powerful set of books, w\especially the first one. I remember when they came out hearing an NPR program on teachers and other education professionals saying why they didn't want "a" movie made from the series. Mostly because not having a lot of visuals gave flight to children's imaginations.
Ah well, those were the days.New follower, come on by:

  14. Hiya, Hoppin' by via the hop. I am your newest follower. Great blog you have here! Harry Potter seems to be the main answer to this weeks blog hop question. I have yet to read the series...Can you believe that? I was given the whole set but my TBR pile is so big I haven't gotten to them yet. I can't wait to delve into them though. Feel free to stop by my blog for a visit: www.crazy-bookworm.blogspot.com hope to see you here!

    Happy Hopping!

  15. wow, thanks everyone! ;D Harry Potter does seem like a popular answer, but it's totally true for me. I literally grew up with these books, and I'm the same age as the trio in the movies, so I have just a huge connection to the whole series. Thanks for all the love, and I'll try and follow back as many as I can! <3

@Bellamay: Yes, I did make it myself. I took the photograph and did all the work to it. I'm glad you like it. :D

@Steph: If I could remember the link, I'd give it to you. I've used so many blogger help sites, it's ridiculous. XD However, I think I originally got the link from The Story Siren's blog help posts.

@Anne Bennett: Brand new, actually. Nothing is even finished yet!

  17. I love Harry Potter so much and it makes me beam with happiness to see that as an answer. Honestly, I didn't think to put Harry Potter as my answer when I wrote my Blog Hop until after I was done with it.
Very interesting answer (I totally agree with what you said about showing the power of the written word).
Cute blog! I can't wait to read more from you in the future!
Feel free to stop by any time!
