Book Hop & Follow Friday (4)

What book are you most looking forward to seeing published in 2011? Why are you anticipating that book?

 

Easy peasy. ;D Hands down, the top books I'm waiting for this year are City of Fallen Angels and Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare. I actually owe a lot to this series. While I had been occasionally delving into the YA section, the Mortal Instruments series really catapulted me into the genre. I hadn't had such an obsessive read since Harry Potter. I also owe the Infernal Devices series for getting me back into reading. I won a writing contest revolving around the release of Clockwork Angel, and it's gotten me to start writing more often. I had lost my spark, and Ms. Clare gave it back.  


What is/was your favorite subject in school?

Just one? While I was never really school's biggest fan, I enjoyed a lot of classes in high school. English, obviously, being my favorite, closely followed by History, Art, and Theater. Journalism and Psychology were also really, really fun.

I grew up in a small area, though, so I'm totally jealous of some the classes students in bigger cities get to take today. Don't we all wish we could go back to high school?

    Hoping on through! I really can't wait for Clockwork Prince - Great choice. I though however really don't wish to go back to high school; it just wansn't my cup of tea - but college was. I find myself always wanting to go back to college.

    Clockwork Prince is definitely up there on my list as well. I'm more of a Jem girl than Will's, though. :P Either way, I'm excited to jump back into that world!

    I'm really excited for City of Fallen Angels too!!! I can't wait for it.

    I enjoyed English class too. I loved the books we got to read because they were normally ones I would never have picked up myself.

    I'm only on Book 1 of the Mortal Instrument series, but I hope to have all three of them finished when City of Fallen Angels comes out so I can participate in the excitement!

    I tried reading The Mortal Instruments, but I just couldn't get into the whole incestous love. Also, I was really rooting for Simon, and got so depressed when he was turned vampire, I really couldn't go on.

    There are so many great books coming out in 2011. I made a whole list of things I'm eager to read.

    English was my favorite class in high school too. I liked everything about it except the papers. God, all of those papers. Even though I like writing, I hated writing compare and contrast papers. >.>
